Specialized heart surgeon joins world-renowned cardiac surgery team
Thousand Oaks, CA — Los Robles Health System is expanding its advanced cardiac surgery program with the addition of Irsa Hasan, MD, a double board-certified cardiac surgeon specializing in robotic and minimally invasive procedures for complex heart conditions. Her outpatient practice is located at the Cardiovascular Institute of Los Robles Health System.
Dr. Hasan joins an established team of heart surgery experts providing advanced treatment for patients with complex cardiovascular disease. Her specialized expertise in robotic heart surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, mitral valve repair, endovascular heart valve therapies, coronary artery bypass surgery and the surgical treatment of coronary artery disease further expands the breadth of advanced cardiac care available to patients in the region.

Dr. Hasan completed her general surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic and her cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She went on to complete advanced fellowship training in robotic cardiac surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Her clinical practice focuses on utilizing advanced surgical techniques to provide individualized treatment for patients with complex cardiovascular disease. When clinically appropriate, minimally invasive and robotic approaches can allow surgeons to perform complex cardiac procedures through smaller incisions compared with the traditional open surgical approaches. For patients, this may include less pain at the surgical site, reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays and a faster return to daily activities.
